Künker Auction 439, lot 2922

This specimen was lot 2922 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €600 (about US$826 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"WEIMARER REPUBLIK, 3 Reichsmark 1930 F. Vogelweide. Polierte Platte, min. berührt. Aus der Sammlung Jürgen und Erika Schmidt, Bovenden. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 149, Osnabrück 2009, Nr. 1109. (Germany, Weimar Republic, three mark of 1930, von der Vogelweide, proof, minor hairlines.)"

This type honoring poet and troubadour Walter von der Vogelweide was issued in 1930 from six mints. The proofs are rare. Austria issued a similar piece (KM 2845).

Recorded mintage: 30,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 15 g, 0.500 fine silver, .239 troy oz ASW, 30 mm diameter.
