This specimen was lot 46234 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Weimar Republic. 3 Mark, 1930-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS MS-64. Commemorative of the Liberation of the Rhineland." This type celebrating the reoccupation of the Rhineland was issued in 1930 from six mints. The proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 1,734,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 15 g, 0.500 fine silver, .239 troy oz ASW, 30 mm diameter.
