Künker sale 264, lot 4228

This specimen was lot 4228 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €240 (about US$310 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"50 Reichspfennig 1931, G. R Sehr schön. (Germany, Weimar republic, fifty reichspfennig of 1931, scarce, very fine.)"

This product of the Karlsruhe mint is a rare date of an otherwise common type struck 1927-38.

Recorded mintage: 60,000.

Specification: 3.5 g, nickel, 20 mm diameter.
