This specimen was lot 33926 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $606. The catalog description[1] noted, "Fujairah. Muhammad bin Hamad al-Sharqi gold "1972 Munich Olympics" Proof 50 Riyals AH 1389 (1970) PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC. An attractive two-year type commemorating the 1972 Munich Olympics. Perfectly mirrored fields and wondrously frosted devices are on display on this beautiful gem." This state, part of the United Arab Emirates, issued a number NCLT's in 1969-71 on dubious authority and then ceased, probably when its contract with the actual mint that produced them ended.

Recorded mintage: 1,230 in 1969 plus 400 in 1970.

Specification: 10.36 g, 0.900 fine gold, .297 troy oz AGW.
