Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction, lot 75654
SB526-75654r.jpg

This specimen was lot 75654 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $366. The catalog description[1] noted, "UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Fujairah. 10 Riyals, AH 1389/1970. Mohammed bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Sharqi. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. Commemorating the Papal visit to the Philippines." The SCWC incorrectly dates this to 1969. We would not expect the ruler of a Muslim country to commemorate the activities of the Catholic pope but this NCLT was likely minted and sold in Italy.

Recorded mintage: 300.

Specification: 30 g, 0.999 fine silver, 45 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-20.
