Fujairah 1971 100 riyals

from the Stacks Bowers 2018 ANA sale, lot 20519

This specimen was lot 20519 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "FUJAIRAH. 100 Riyals, 1971. PCGS PROOF-68 DEEP CAMEO. For the Apollo 14 mission to the moon. Mintage of 550 pieces. Attractively produced with exceptional cameo-like features." This state, part of the United Arab Emirates, issued a number NCLT's in 1969-71 on dubious authority and then ceased, probably when its contract with the actual mint that produced them ended.
