This specimen was lot 20518 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FUJAIRAH. 100 Riyals, AH 1388 (1969). NGC PROOF-66 ULTRA CAMEO. Issued to commemorate the Apollo XII mission to the moon. We note that the third astronaut depicted, Alan Bean, died in May this year. A seldom seen modern Middle Eastern type with an interesting American theme." This state, part of the United Arab Emirates, issued a number NCLT's in 1969-71 on dubious authority and then ceased, probably when its contract with the actual mint that produced them ended.
