Stack's Bowers May 2025 Collectors Choice Online Auction, lot 75814

This specimen was lot 75814 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. Fujairah. 200 Riyals, AH 1388/1969. PCGS PROOF-63 Deep Cameo." Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, depicted here, ruled the emirate of Fujairah 1942-74. This state, part of the United Arab Emirates, issued a number of NCLT's in 1969-71 on dubious authority and then ceased, probably when its contract with the actual mint that produced them ended.
