This specimen was lot 463 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$7,784 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

(kingdom of France, Louis XIV, 1643-1715, silver half écu of the insignia of Flanders of 1704, Lille mint. Extremely rare, well above average. Slight traces of the undertype, very fine to extremely fine. The half écu pieces from the Pau and Lille mints are among the rarest coins minted under Louis XIV.)"

This type was struck 1704-05 only at Lille along with an écu de Flandre and a quart d'écu de Flandre. Droulers[2] notes that perhaps half a dozen examples exist of this type. The Lille mint also struck a few demi-écu aux palmes (Dr/4 № 623) in 1704.

Recorded mintage: unknown but few.
