Künker sale 352, lot 1858

This specimen was lot 1858 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,784 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBUTTEL, Karl I. 1735-1780. 10 Taler 1763, Braunschweig. GOLD. Leicht justiert, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles I, 1735-80, ten thalers of 1763, Brunswick mint. Lightly adjusted, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck in small quantities 1742-53, 1756-64. It was accompanied by a similar five thaler (KM 915) and 2½ thaler (KM 913).
