Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel 1761-E IDB 10 thaler Fr-713
This specimen was lot 3983 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,412 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, Karl I. 1735-1780. 10 Taler 1761, Braunschweig. GOLD. Seltener Jahrgang. Sehr schön/sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles I, 1735-80, ten thalers of 1761, Brunswick mint. Rare date, very fine or better.)"
This type was struck in small quantities 1742-53, 1756-64. It was accompanied by a similar five thaler (KM 915) and 2½ thaler (KM 913).
