This specimen was lot 6442 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. 1/2 Bell Taler, 1643. August II (1634-66). ANACS EF-40. Fifth bell. 'M.VII B. 13' below bell. SCARCE type." It was offered again in the May 2017 Collector's Choice sale where it did not sell. This is a one year type. The catalog value is about half the price of a thaler.

The second specimen was lot 498 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €200 (about US$270 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. 1/2 Reichstaler 1643, Zellerfeld. 5. Glockenhalbtaler. Winz. Graffiti, sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, fifth bell half thaler of 1643, Zellerfeld mint. minor graffitti, very fine.)"
