Sincona sale 39, lot 4043

This specimen was lot 4043 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780 Konventionstaler 1764. Hall. Sehr schön/vorzüglich. Avers leicht gereinigt. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, convention thaler of 1764, Hall mint. Very fine/extremely fine. Minor cleaning on obverse.)"

The type was struck 1751-65 and is fairly common. The first years (1751-53) were struck to the standard of 28.82 g, 0.875 fine silver.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, .751 troy oz ASW, this specimen 27.91 g.
