Künker sale 385, lot 3693

This specimen was lot 3693 in Künker sale 385 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,551 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Konv.-Taler 1764, KB, Kremnitz. Feine Patina, vorzüglich. Erworben 1999 bei der Firma M. Meister. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, convention thaler of 1764, Kremnitz mint. Fine patina, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Kremnitz 1763-64 for Maria Theresia and is common. Another thaler (Dav-1157) was struck in Kremnitz with the bust of Francis I.
