Sincona sale 76, lot 1485

This specimen was lot 1485 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 15,500 CHF (about US$18,814 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Franz II. (I.), 1792-1835. Dukat 1792 A, Wien. Königsdukat. Von grösster Seltenheit. Gutes vorzüglich. NGC AU58. Feine Goldpatina. (Austria, Francis II, 1792-1835, "king's" ducat of 1792, Vienna mint. Of the highest rarity, Good extremely fine, Nice gold toning.)"

This one year type is rare. The regular issue of 1792-1810 (Fr-464), with the imperial eagle on the reverse, is common.
