Austria 1791-B ducat Fr-206
This specimen was lot 2315 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,302 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold II., 1790-1792. Dukat 1791 B, Kremnitz. GOLD. R Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold II, 1790-92, ducat of 1791, Kremnitz mint. Rare, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for several mints from 1790-92 and is scarce. Confusingly, Friedburg lists this under Hungary, which is technically correct, as Kremnitz is in Hungary, but the design is strictly Austrian.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3,48 g.
