Künker sale 423, lot 206

This specimen was lot 206 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$8,496 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold II., 1790-1792. Dukat 1791 F, Hall. Büste r. mit Lorbeerkranz, darunter die Münzstättensignatur F//Gekrönter Doppeladler mit Kopfscheinen und Schwert und Zepter in den Fängen, auf der Brust zweifeldiges Wappen (Österreich-Lothringen), umher die Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies. RR Leicht gewellt, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion H. D. Rauch 36, Wien 1986, Nr. 1332. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold II, 1790-92, ducat of 1791, Hall mint. Obverse: laureate bust right, mintmark below; reverse: crowned and nimbate double headed eagle with sword and scepter in its claws, supporting the crowned impaled arms of Austria and Lorraine, order chain around. Very rare, slightly wavy, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1791-92 at five mints (A, B, E, F, G) during the brief reign of Leopold II.
