Künker sale 406, lot 3872

This specimen was lot 3872 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold II. 1790-1792. Dukat 1791, G, Nagybánya. GOLD. R Winz. Druckstelle, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold II, 1790-92, ducat of 1791, Nagybánya mint. Punch mark, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1790-92 at five mints and far outnumbers the rare Fr-446 with the shield reverse.
