Mexico 1867C medio escudo rev DSLR.jpg

The Culiacan mint struck half escudos 1848 and 1853-70 in sufficient numbers to be considered a common mint. This specimen shows the "Sonoran eagle" distinctive to Culiacan and Hermosillo. The 1867 is the last readily available date for Culiacan; the 1870 is very scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, .875 fine gold, .049 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 378, Fr-109.
