This specimen was lot 4270 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €600 (about US$785 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM. Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. 1/4 Reichstaler 1617, Dresden, auf die 100-Jahrfeier der Reformation. Prachtvolle Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, John George I, 1615-56, quarter thaler of 1617, Dresden mint, on the centennial of the reformation. Lustrous, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This commemorative was one of a series ranging from one-eighth thaler to four ducats.
