Künker sale 335, lot 4273

This specimen was lot 4273 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €220 (about US$288 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM. Johann Georg I. 1615-1656. 1/2 Reichstaler 1619, Dresden. Min. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Johann Georg I. 1615-1656, half thaler of 1619, Dresden mint. Minor planchet cracks, very fine to extremely fine.)"

Altho a vicariat half thaler was issued in 1619 (KM 118), this is the regular circulation issue of 1617-24.
