This specimen was lot 24709 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $1,725. The catalog description[1] noted, "Louis XIIII gold 1/2 Louis d'Or 1690-A, AU Details NGC (surface hairlines), very lightly cleaned and now attractively toned, struck over an earlier coin but the details are quite sharp." Recorded mintage: 177,771 (all restruck over earlier types).

Specification: 3.37 g, 0.917 fine gold, 20-21 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 277.1, Dr/4 № 418, Dr/2 № 262, Fr-430.
