This specimen is from a series struck 1868-70 at the Chihuahua mint and 1863 at San Luis Potosí. This five centavos piece was superseded by the "standing eagle" type struck 1869-97. It, in turn, was replaced by a "slim eagle" five centavos piece (KM 400) in 1898. This specimen was lot 2272 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $270.25.
