Toledo Mint. Philip II. PCGS AU-58. An appealing 4 Reales piece with bright surfaces and sharp details. A satisfying amount of the outer legend remains, and the obverse crowned shield is attractively complete and well-preserved. The reverse displays particularly bold castles and lions, with an interesting variation showing the upper lion facing down. An intriguing and wholesome example, sure to satisfy collectors of the type. From the Pat Johnson Collection." Toledo was a prolific mint, striking coins by the hammer until the 1650's. Undated four real cobs also come with assayer V and with no assayer. This variety has the M over the T; Cayón-3793 has the T over the M.
