This specimen was lot 47647 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN. Real, ND (1556-88). Sevilla Mint. Philip II. PCGS AU-58." This type was hammered at Segovia, Seville, Toledo, Valencia and Valladolid. Dates were added starting in 1589-90. The assayer's initial "Ժ" appears in different locations; this example has a "Ժ" below the mintmark on the obverse and another in the third quarter of the reverse.
