Künker sale 405, lot 3281

This specimen was lot 3281 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS JOSEF II., 1765-1790. Goldmünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Josef II. 1/10 Dukat o. J. (1745-1765). Münzmeister Georg Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider vermutlich Johann Nikolaus Körnlein. GOLD. RR Vorzüglich. (city of Regensburg, undated one tenth ducat, struck in the name of Joseph II. Very rare, extremely fine.)"

We will follow Friedberg and the SCWC and file this under Francis I and not Joseph II. This is the only time this denomination was issued at this locale.
