This specimen was lot 3248 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €24,000 (about US$31,491 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FRANZ I., 1745-1765. Silberabschläge von Stempeln Regensburger Goldmünzen aus der Zeit von Kaiser Franz I. Doppelter Reichstaler o. J., mit Titel von Franz I. Geprägt mit den Stempeln des Zwölfdukatenstücks. Münzmeister Johann Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider Johann Leonhard Oexlein. NON DORMIT QUI - NOS CUSTODIT Stadtansicht von Regensburg, darüber strahlendes Dreieck und zwei Engel die das Reichs- und Stadtwappen halten, auf der Abschnittslinie die Stempelschneidersignatur, im Abschnitt RATISBONA und die Münzmeistersignatur in Kartusche zwischen Palmzweigen//FRANCISCUS I • D • G • ROM • IMP • SEMP • AVG • Geharnischtes Brustbild des Kaisers r. mit Lorbeerkranz, Löwenkopfschulter, umgelegtem Mantel und der Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies, am Armabschnitt die Stempelschneidersignatur. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 62 PL (6643529-006). Von größter Seltenheit. Prachtexemplar. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (city of Regensburg, undated double thaler struck in the name of Francis I, struck with the dies used for the twelve ducats. Obverse: city view with a glory above, two angels hold the imperial and city arms, engraver's initials in the exergue; reverse: armored, laureate and mantled bust of the emperor with order chain, engraver's initials in the exergue. Graded NGC MS-62PL, extremely rare, cabinet example, handsome patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
