Künker sale 405, lot 3236

This specimen was lot 3236 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €6,500 (about US$8,529 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS FRANZ I., 1745-1765. Goldmünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Franz I. ½ Dukat o. J. (1745-1765), mit Titel von Franz I. Münzmeister Johann Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider Johann Leonhard Oexlein. GOLD. RR Leicht gewellt, winz. Kratzer im Feld der Rückseite, kl. Randfehler, vorzüglich. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 62 (6645572-003). (city of Regensburg, undated half ducat, struck in the name of Francis I. Very rare, slightly wavy, some hairlines in the reverse fields, extremely fine, graded NGC MS-62.)"

This half ducat differs from the similar Fr-2535c in the reverse legend; this one states, "PROSPICIENTE DEO", while Fr-2535c has, "MON·REIP·RATISBON·".
