Künker sale 405, lot 3279

This specimen was lot 3279 in Künker sale 405 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €550 (about US$722 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DIE REICHSSTADT REGENSBURG. DIE ZEIT DES KAISERS JOSEF II., 1765-1790. Goldmünzen aus der Zeit des Kaisers Josef II. ¼ Dukatenklippe o. J. (1745-1765). Münzmeister Georg Christoph Busch. Stempelschneider vermutlich Johann Nikolaus Körnlein. GOLD. R Kl. Henkelspur, fast vorzüglich. (city of Regensburg, undated klippe quarter ducat, struck in the name of Joseph II. Rare, small mount mark, about extremely fine.)"

We will follow Friedberg and the SCWC and file this under Francis I and not Joseph II.
