Künker sale 403, lot 1471

This specimen was lot 1471 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €1,800 (about US$2,362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PAPST INNOCENZ XII., 1691-1700. Die Münzstätte Rom. Testone AN II (1692/1693), Rom. Mit dem Wappen des Presidente della zecca, Monsieur Maffeo Farsetti, auf der Rückseite. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Papal States, Innocent XII, 1691-1700, testone of the year 2, Rome mint, with the mintmaster's arms on the reverse. Cabinet example, about uncirculated.)"

The testone was three giulii and 3½ testone made a piastra. The reverse motto translates as, "This [coin] will not follow you into perdition."

Specification: 9.59 g, 0.917 fine silver, this specimen 9,61 g.
