Sincona sale 47, lot 1916

This specimen was lot 1916 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$360 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Kirchenstaat, Innozenz XII. 1691-1700. Testone 1693, Rom. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Papal States, Innocent XII, 1691-1700, testone of 1693, Rome mint. Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1692-93 along with KM 567 (eaglets on reverse) which has a considerably higher catalog value.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 9.59 g, 0.917 fine silver, this specimen 9.02 g.
