This specimen was lot 899 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €160 (about US$222 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, ÉTATS PONTIFICAUX, Innocent XII (1691-1700), (Antonio Pignatelli), AR 1/12 écu, 1693, Avignon. D/ B. à d. Sur l'épaule, les armes du vice-légat Marco Delphini. R/ Armoiries. Rare. Surfrappé. Fines griffes. (France, Papal States, Innocent XII, 1691-1700, silver twelfth écu of 1693, Avignon mint. Obverse: bust right, the arms of the vice-legate on the shoulder; reverse: arms. Rare, overstruck, Very Fine.)"

The SCWC notes two reverses for this denomination in 1693; one with papal arms (shown here) and the other with the local legate's arms. This example matches the photo for KM 105 but the description for KM 107. The French twelfth écu it imitated was 2.28 g.

Specification: 1.86 g, 0.917 fine silver, 21 mm diameter, this specimen 1,83 g.
