This specimen was lot 4321 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Alexandro VIII. 1689-1691 Testone 1690. Rom. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Papal States, Alexander VIII, 1689-91, testone of 1690. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
The testone was thirty baiocchi, while the piastra, the Italian equivalent of the German thaler, was 105 baiocchi (3½ testone). This specimen is dated MDCXC and is rather scarce.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 9.59 g, 0.917 fine silver, this specimen 9.04 g.
