The first specimen was lot 634 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 3,600 CHF (about US$4,320 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN, Vatikan - Kirchenstaat, Innozenz XII. 1691-1700. Doppia 1692, Rom. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Henkelspur und Felder bearbeitet. (Papal States, Innocent XII, 1691-1700, doppia of 1692, Rome mint. Very rare, Very fine, Mount mark and fields tooled.)"

The second specimen was lot 1454 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €22,000 (about US$28,866 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"PAPST INNOCENZ XII., 1691-1700. Die Münzstätte Rom. Doppia 1692, Rom. Wappen mit Blattwerk und Muschel, darüber gekreuzte Schlüssel mit Bändern und Schleifen sowie Tiara//Der heilige Paulus steht fast v. v., den Kopf nach l. gewandt, die Hände auf ein Schwert an seiner rechten Seite gelegt, im Abschnitt das Wappen des Presidente della zecca, Monsieur Maffeo Farsetti, zu den Seiten die geteilte Jahreszahl 16 - 92. GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Kl. Stempelfehler, vorzüglich. (Papal States, Innocent XII, 1691-1700, doppia of 1692, Rome mint. Obverse: arms with foliage and shell, crossed keys with ribbons and bows and tiara; reverse: Saint Paul stands facing, head left, his hands placed on a sword on his right side, in the exergue the arms of the Presidente della Zecca, Monsieur Maffeo Farsetti, on the sides the divided year 16 - 92. Extremely rare, minor die defects, extremely fine.)"

The scudo d'oro of Rome was 3.36 g, 0.917 fine gold, making the doppia 6.72 g. Berman mentions two closely related issues: Ber-2214 has the sword to right, Ber-2215 has the sword to left. Both are very rare.

Specification: 6.72 g, 0.917 fine gold, the first specimen 6.49 g. The second specimen is 6,69 g.
