This specimen was lot 21376 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $6,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Escudo, 1864/1-DoLT/CP. PCGS MS-61 Secure Holder. VERY RARE, the sole certified example at either PCGS or NGC. The final date from this mint, listed in the Standard Catalog of World Coins with a value of $500 in XF and no price in higher grades. Close inspection reveals an obvious overdate (1864/1) which is unlisted for the date. Over[as]sayer not noted on slab insert. A prize for the specialist."
