This specimen was lot 1420 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee Restrike, 1914. Bombay Mint. NGC PL-63. From the Sanjay Gandhi Collection." The rupees of George V were struck 1912-22 and 1935-36 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare. The Calcutta mint contributed another 33,100,000.
Recorded mintage: 15,270,000 plus proofs.
