This specimen was lot 2672 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: George V, 1910-1936, AE 1/2 pice, 1914(c), Calcutta Mint proof restrike, NGC graded Proof 63 RB, ex David Fore Collection, ex The 1914 Collection. Tied for finest graded at both NGC and PCGS." This half pice was struck at the Calcutta mint before World War One. The type was struck 1912-36 and is common in all grades but still makes a handsome coin in nice condition. A half pice was 1/128 of a rupee.
Recorded mintage: 4,876,800 plus proofs plus prooflike restrikes.
Specification: 2.40 g, bronze, 21.05 mm diameter, plain edge.
