Künker sale 264, lot 3024

This specimen was lot 3024 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €3,600 (about US$4,651 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KÖNIGREICH Christian V. 1670-1699. Dukat 1694, Kopenhagen. GOLD. R Vorzüglich. (kingdom of Denmark, Christian V, 1670-99, ducat of 1694, Copenhagen mint. Scarce, extremely fine.)"

This scarce one year type was struck along with another ducat (Fr-161) struck from quarter ducat dies but thicker.

Specification: 3.49 g, .979 fine gold, this specimen 3.43 g.
