This specimen was lot 10304 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €552 (about US$575). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 8 Skilling, 1694. Gluckstadt Mint. Christian V. NGC MS-62. Nice quality for type. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1694-97; the mintmark is crossed axes. The SCWC notes two varieties for 1694: KM 82.1 (counterclockwise obverse lettering) and KM 82.2 (clockwise obverse lettering, shown here). Christian V was king of Denmark and duke of Schleswig-Holstein. Eight skilling was 1/8 krone or 1/12 speciedaler.
