from Schulman auction 385, lot 91

This specimen was lot 91 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Denmark - 4 Mark / Krone 1694, Silver, CHRISTIAN V 1670-1699, GLUCKSTADT Crowned monogram within wreath. Rev. Crowned coat of arms. Very fine +." The kroner struck at Cogenhagen (Dav-3646, Dav-3647, Dav-3648) featured the bust of the king while those struck at Gluckstadt featured his monogram (Dav-3679, Dav-3680). This type was struck 1694-96. The similar Dav-3679 has palm branches on the obverse.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 22.27 g, 0.671 fine silver, 40 mm diameter.
