The first specimen was lot 3450 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $105.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Schleswig-Holstein. Krone, 1693. Christian V (1670-99). PCI VF-20. Date located under the shield. Noticeable wear in the higher reliefs, but most details and features are easily discernible. Uneven strike." The second specimen was lot 74281 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $219.60. The catalog description[2] noted, "DENMARK. Krone (4 Mark), 1693-CW. Gluckstadt Mint. Christian V. NGC EF-45." Schleswig-Holstein has been contested between Germany and Denmark since the Middle Ages. In the seventeenth century, the area was fragmented between several ducal lines and the bishop of Lübeck.
