SB924-1115r.jpg

This specimen was lot 1115 in Stack's Bowers sale of the L. E. Bruun Collection (Copenhagen, September 2024), where it sold for €6,000 (about US$6,649 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Attractive and Fully Presentable Ducat with Good Retained Details, DENMARK. Ducat, 1692. Copenhagen Mint. Christian V. NGC Unc Details--Obverse Scratched. Mintmaster: Christian Wineke. A VERY RARE type, this appealing Ducat displays a charming Uncirculated appeal, with a full allotment of preserved details. The strike quality is attractive, and outside of the scratches on the obverse, there is very little evidence of marking. A fully presentable example that will certainly capture much attention, despite the slight drawback."

Other ducats for 1692 include KM 415/Fr-156 and KM 412/Fr-155.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.979 fine gold, this specimen 3.46 g.
