Sincona sale 97, lot 1147

This specimen was lot 1147 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$363 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA Volksrepublik. 10 Yuan 1991, Shanghai Mint. Panda. Grosse Jahreszahl. PAN 145A. FDC. In Originalverschweissung. (Peoples Republic of China, ten yuan of 1991, Shanghai mint, panda series, Large date, Mint State, In original capsule.)" Other ten yuan for 1991 included KM 296, 299, KM 356, KM 360, 361, 369, 370, 372, 373, 374, 375, KM 386.1, KM 386.2, 386.3, PA21. China's deluge of NCLT's was well underway in 1990. Many of the early ones sold poorly and are now scarce.

Recorded mintage: 81,792 plus proofs.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.100 troy oz AGW.
