Sincona sale 97, lot 1153

This specimen was lot 1153 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$363 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA Volksrepublik. 10 Yuan 1992, Shanghai Mint. Panda. Grosse Jahreszahl. FDC. In Originalverschweissung. (Peoples Republic of China, ten yuan of 1992, Shanghai mint, panda series, Large date, Mint State, In original capsule.)" Other ten yuan for 1992 included KM 397, KM 427, 428, 438, 439, 441, 442, 443, 444, 454, 455, 466, 468, A397. China's deluge of NCLT's was well underway in 1992. Many of the early ones sold poorly and are now scarce.

Recorded mintage: 116,999 plus proofs.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.100 troy oz AGW.
