China 1992 5 yuan KM-457

from the Stack's Bowers 2017 NYINC sale, part of lot 2330

This specimen was part of lot 2330 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), which sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CHINA. 5 Yuan Four Piece Proof Set, 1992. Bronze Age Discoveries, Series 2. NGC PROOF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. KM-457/60. Includes case of issue." This NCLT was one of a four piece set honoring Bronze Age sculptures found in archeological digs. The others featured a panther (KM 458), a deer (KM 459) and a lantern (KM 460).

Recorded mintage: 3,000 proofs.

Specification: 10 g, 0.900 fine silver.
