Sincona sale 97, lot 1152

This specimen was lot 1152 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$870 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA Volksrepublik. 25 Yuan 1992, Shenyang Mint. Panda. Kleine Jahreszahl. FDC. In Originalverschweissung. (Peoples Republic of China, Shenyang mint, panda series, Small date, Mint State, In original capsule.)" Other 25 yuan for 1992 included KM 453, 461 and 462. China's deluge of NCLT's was well underway in 1992. Many of the early ones sold poorly and are now scarce.

Recorded mintage: 72,537 plus proofs.

Specification: 7.77 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.250 troy oz AGW.
