China 1990 10 yuan KM-317

Sincona sale 97, lot 1141

This specimen was lot 1141 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$174 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA Volksrepublik. 10 Yuan 1990, Shenyang Mint. Drache und Phönix. Polierte Platte, leicht berührt. (Peoples Republic of China, ten yuan of 1990, Dragon and Phoenix. Proof, minor touch marks.)" Other ten yuan for 1990 included KM 269, KM 276, KM 277, KM 282, 283, 291, 292, 293, 294, 300, 301, 302, 305, 306, 307, 308, KM 316. The dragon and phoenix appeared on KM 315 (5 yuan, 2 g silver), KM 316 (10 yuan, 1 oz silver), KM 318 (20 yuan, 2 oz silver), KM 319 (150 yuan, 20 oz silver), KM 320 (200 yuan, 2 oz gold) and KM 321 (1500 yuan, 20 oz gold). China's deluge of NCLT's was well underway in 1990. Many of the early ones sold poorly and are now scarce.
