Sincona sale 85, lot 2155

This specimen was lot 2155 in Sincona sale 87 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA, 150 Yuan 1990, Shenyang Mint. Jahr des Pferdes. Selten. Nur 7'505 Exemplare geprägt, Mit Originaletui mit Zertifikat, Year of the Horse, Rare. Only 7,505 pieces struck. NGC PF69 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box with certificate."

The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. Other 150 yuan for 1990 include KM 319 (dragon and phoenix, silver).

Recorded mintage: 7,500.
