from the Stack's Bowers 2020 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70362

This specimen was lot 70362 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. 5 Yuan, 1990. Dragon and Phoenix Series. ANACS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. A magnificent small silver Proof that features the famed dragon & phoenix motif. An enchanting example of the type." Other issues in this set included KM 316 (10 yuan, 1 oz silver), KM 317 (10 yuan, gold), KM 318 (20 yuan, 2 oz silver) and KM 320 (200 yuan, 2 oz gold).

Recorded mintage: 50,000 proofs.

Specification: 2 g, 0.999 fine silver, 15 mm diameter.
