This specimen was lot 1682 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. 100 Yuan, 1991. Seated Panda. Small date. NGC graded MS-69." This NCLT was the ninth one ounce panda, the series having begun in 1983. Subsequent programs added silver and platinum pandas in varying sizes from one gram up to 4.85 kilo.

Recorded mintage: 36,367 + proofs.

Specification: 31.1 g, 0.999 fine gold.
